Hi, I would like ask about this concern as my PDF Files could not be open using the Microsoft Edge. It appears to download the PDF file for several times but could not be open and even the load part of the file are not appearing. It only appears to be blank on the page of the Microsoft Edge. Hoping someone could help this matter. Thanks!

Just opened my File Explorer to find that all of my PDF files icons were different. The files can be opened, there is no problem with accessing the files, just wondering what made the icons change. I've always used Edge to open my PDFs, so I don't see an issue with that.
In Edge The PDF option a second pane with 2 options: "Always download PDF files" and "PDF view settings". Both options are on. In Chrome I would assume the setting you mention should be toggled on. In my Chrome browser I have two options which are mutually exclusive: "Download PDF' s" and "Open PDF's in Chrome".
If Acrobat is taking longer to open PDF documents I will suggest you to clear temp folder. To get classic file open or save dialog, try this: Open Acrobat . Go to Edit > Preferences > General. Uncheck the option, Show online storage when opening files & Show online storage when saving files. Click OK. Thanks, Abhishek
With the new release v19.12.20036, now we can manually set the preference to reopen the PDF from the last session. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Reader / Adobe Acrobat DC (Mac) > Preferences > General > Check, Open PDF from the last session on Acrobat launch> click Ok. From the description, it seems the default application to open PDF files has changed to Google Chrome. You might want to change it by following the steps below: 1. Right-click on any PDF file; 2. Click "Properties"; 3. Click the "Change" button to the right of "Opens With;" 4. Select Acrobat Reader . 5. Click Apply . Hope this helps. -Souvik
If Word is trying to open all of your PDFs, then something is wrong with the file associations. Right-click the icon of a PDF file in File Explorer and choose Properties. On the General tab of the Properties window, click the Change button and choose Adobe Reader or whatever is your favorite PDF viewer/editor.
