Post by Deleted onSep 2, 2013 at 9:16am. This was taken from Wikipedia on September 2, 2013. William Aughe Ghere (March 9, 1902 – April 22, 1978) — known as Will Geer — was an American actor and social activist, best known for his portrayal of Grandpa Zebulon Tyler Walton in the 1970s TV series The Waltons. Post by rochelle onJun 13, 2018 at 2:28pm. Yesterday, INSP aired the episode of Grandma's return home after her long stay in the hospital, recovering from a stroke. Today was the one about John trying to decide whether to move to Richmond to become Matt Sarver's VP. I believe it was the first show after Grandpa's death because they went to the ...
As Will Geer was dying on April 22, 1978, of respiratory failure at the age of 76, his family sang Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land" and recited poems by Robert Frost at his deathbed. Geer's remains were cremated; his ashes are buried at the Theatricum Botanicum in the "Shakespeare Garden" in Topanga Canyon, near Santa Monica, California.

Miss Michael Learned. Ellen Corby. Will Geer as the Grandfather. Thomas was the star, and the other four were the co-stars. After Thomas left, and Corby was recovering from her stroke, the season six credits initially said: Starring Ralph Waite. Michael Learned. Co-starring Will Geer as the Grandfather.
As a young child I was captivated by Will Geer and The Grandpa character he portrayed. He was a wise old sage..a gentle, kind soul with the loyalty and devotion of man's best friend, the spirit of someone half his age, a taste for the recipe, and a slight penchant for shenanigans.. 40 years later he still captivates me.

What a great place Will Geer's theatre company has! When my family and I went in CA in 2004 for the Waltons reunion, we spent an afternoon there, enjoying the plants, trees and flowers, swinging on the Walton type swing (like on the front porch) and seeing Ellen Geer (Will's daughter) and the rest of the players) rehearsing.

Richard and Will were so good together. They were also “partners in crime” in playing practical jokes on the cast and crew and making them laugh. Back to Top. Easton. Nobel Prize in Journalism. Posts: 7,372. Richard Thomas and Will Geer Jul 11, 2022 at 1:02pm Miss Amy and Heather like this. Quote.
