Then connect the flusher, turn on the water and run the engine until you are certain the treated fuel has had a chance to find its way into the engine. A 5 to 10 minute run would suffice.

A few rotations of the engine, either with a rope on the flywheel, or with the starter, will enable any water still in the pump to drain out. Make sure the ignition is disabled when you do this. An 82 should have a lanyard switch on the control box.
