BU struggled through the first half of the 2007–2008 season. Inconsistency was a major problem, BU lost to Boston College in the first round of the Beanpot, but played well in the second half of the season to finish in 2nd place in Hockey East. BU's season ended with a loss to Vermont in the Hockey East tournament semifinals.
