    I would suggest to check Amazon KSA, if they sell / deliver the same titles to KSA you probably should be good. Another suggestion is to go for digital books on Kindle or Google Play Books. Personally if anything is even a little borderline edgy i would prefer not to chance it.

    Probably buy it from Amazon and have it shipped out here via Aramex. Try an app called Navmii, it is based on your smartphone but you can download all the maps prior to using it. It will then work off your gps so no need for a data connection. You could see how it works in KSA before ordering a dedicated unit.

    Re: Radios/walkie talkies in Saudi. We (the company) have just bought some new radios from Bravo and we use them also as walkie talkies. Since I am in Khobar and so I am told the range they could be used as far away as in Jeddah, just as log as you have a good Bravo reception. The model we have is the Motorola i418 type.

    Iphone is available in KSA so I presume its up for grabs in UAE too. i phones are cheap we saw lots for sale in dubai.
