Valley View is a village in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,897 at the 2020 census. A suburb of Cleveland, it is a part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. Valley View's name refers to the Cuyahoga River valley, [5] and the town includes part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Ohio and Erie Canal.
As in many other states, Prohibition in the United States destroyed the Ohio wine industry, which has struggled to recover. As of 2018 Ohio was the 6th-largest wine producer in the United States. [1] [2] In Fall of 2011 Kent State University at Ashtabula became the first university in the state to offer programs in viticulture and enology. [4]

The winery has been operated by Ann, Mark and Michael since 1990. Ann passed away in 2023 at 91 and is acknowledged as one of the pioneers of the Oregon wine industry. Mark and Michael became owners of Valley View in 2005. The winery won a Double Gold medal for the 1990 Chardonnay in the World Wine Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
