Walburga Stemmer (March 1892 – October 1928) was a woman who had an affair with German field marshal Erwin Rommel and gave birth to his daughter, Gertrud Stemmer (later Mrs. Gertrud Pan), on 8 December 1913. Rommel's family put pressure on him to leave Stemmer and return to his fiancée Lucie Mollin, whom he soon married.
Rommel's son Manfred Rommel stated in the documentary The Real Rommel, released in 2001 by Channel 4, that his father would "look the other way" when faced with anti-Jewish violence on the streets. But, according to the documentary, Rommel requested proof of "Aryan descent" from the Italian boyfriend of his illegitimate daughter Gertrud.
He was the only son of Wehrmacht Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and his wife Lucia Maria Mollin (1894–1971), and contributed to the establishment of museums in his father's honour. He was also known for his friendship with George Patton IV and David Montgomery , the sons of his father's two principal military adversaries.

The Rommel Museum was located in Blaustein in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The museum was dedicated to the memory of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel , popularly known as the "Desert Fox". The museum opened in 1989 and was located in the Villa Lindenhof in the borough of Herrlingen, and closed in May 2019. [ 1 ]
