Maduwanwela Walawwa is a Walauwa located in Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. The Walawwa is in the town of Maduwanwela, which lies between Embilipitiya and Rakwana, approximately 207 km (129 mi) from Colombo.
Atapattu Walawwa is a large colonial era manor house situated at 35 Lower Dickson Road, Walawwatta, Galle, Sri Lanka. [1] The walawwa was constructed by Mudaliyar Don Bastian Gooneratne in 1742. [2] The two-storey 743 m 2 (8,000 sq ft) building is located within a 0.6 ha (1.5 acres) garden, approximately 0.5 km (0.31 mi) from the centre of Galle.
This museum was opened to the public in 1982. This building embodies the unique architectural features of a colonial Dutch town house. In 1999 the museum building was formally recognised by the Government as an archaeological protected monument in Sri Lanka. The designation was declared on 18 June under the government Gazette number 1085. [3]
Queen's Cottage (also known as the President's House or The Lodge) is a country house near Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. It is the vacationing and country residence of the President of Sri Lanka. Located within the limits of the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council along the Queen Elizabeth Drive, it is a protected monument under the Antiquities Ordinance.
