- red fox pee for foxes, coyote or red fox pee for coyotes, optional is use of a liquid gland lure, either red fox for fox, or coyote or red for for coyotes. Use good clean and foxy smelling pee. Available at a trapping supplier. The stuff sold for hunters or in the garden center may not be as good and is always more expensive than a trapper ...

Survival is much harder for a coyote in places like that. I know in Alaska, when wolf pups die the mom will eat them.
Keep your movements to a minimum cause a coyote will pick up movement in a hurry. I usually call in a spot for about 15 minutes then move. That’s the key to it, make lots of stands. Move about ½ to 1 mile and set up again. The more setups you make the more yotes you will call.

They are double the size if a fox. If I had to decide for myself I would take chest shots if there was snow to track with, as a blood trail will be next to none.

As far as I’m aware you can hunt them on private property at night or day with a centerfire rifle outside of deer season caliber .269 or smaller. I believe 6.5 creedmor is .264 so that would make it legal to hunt ...
