The Sixth Term Examination Papers in Mathematics, often referred to as STEP, is currently a university admissions test for undergraduate courses with significant mathematical content - most notably for Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
Advanced Subjects Test – Standard means of entry to Taiwanese universities and colleges held in July. The AST was first administered in 2002, and phased out after 2021. The Test of Mathematics for University Admission is a paper-based 2 hour and 30 minute long test, which is to be completed without dictionaries or calculators. It has two papers which are taken consecutively: Paper 1: Mathematical Thinking Paper 1 has 20 multiple-choice questions, with 75 minutes allowed to complete the paper.
The official users of STEP in Mathematics at present are the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, and the University of Warwick. Since the 2025 entry application cycle, the STEP exams have been superseded by the TMUA exam at Imperial College London and the University of Warwick.
