KOST (103.5 MHz) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California, United States. Owned by iHeartMedia , it broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format , switching to Christmas music in early November and ending a few days after Christmas Day (or after Christmas Day, if the holiday either falls on a Sunday or on a Monday).
Ellen K. (born September 19, 1962) [1] is an American radio personality in the Los Angeles, California market and a television host. She is the host of the Ellen K Radio Show on KOST 103.5 FM, and the nationally-syndicated weekend program Ellen K Weekend Show on iHeartMedia AC-formatted stations like Lite FM in New York and in Chicago.
Kim Amidon (born 20th century) is an American radio personality, known for her work on the Most Music Mornings on KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles, California, co-hosting with Mark Wallengren. [ 1 ] In 2006, she and Wallengren both received together a "star" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their work on the radio.
Sunny 106.5 plays Christmas music during the holiday season, as so happens to most iHeart-owned AC stations, like KOST, as well as other AC stations that are not owned by iHeartMedia. On August 10, 2015, KFI began a simulcast on KOST's HD 2 signal. KFI served as the flagship station of the Los Angeles Chargers, carrying all of the team's game day broadcasts from the team's return to the Los Angeles market in 2017 until 2020, when games were moved to co-owned 98.7 KYSR .
The station was first signed on in 1979 as KIQO by Midway Broadcasters Inc. [3] The station first aired an adult contemporary music format under the branding "Q104". In July 1984, Gareth F. Garlund and Anna Garlund sold their 80% stake in Midway Broadcasters to partners Gary F. Brill and Virginia Brill, who owned the other 20%, for $700,000.
