The 42nd Indonesian Film Festival ceremony, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022. [1]

In addition to film screenings and awards, the festival also features talk programs, masterclasses, a short film production funding called Jakarta Film Fund, and a producer's lab. The inaugural edition of Jakarta Film Week was held on 18 to 21 November 2021, took place at the CGV Grand Indonesia, Metropole XXI, and Ashley Hotel. [2]
In 2004 the Indonesian Film Festival committee launched and returned the event to an annual affair. In 2014 the Indonesian Film Board was formed and FFI changed the award statuette. In 2017 the Indonesian Film Board added two more awards for unique and creative films, raising the total to 21. In 2018 awards were given in 23 categories. [3]
