In May 2006, both channels were re-branded "STV" with newsrooms in Glasgow and Aberdeen retained to provide separate news services for their respective regions. Seven months later, STV launched news opt-outs for the East of Central Scotland (broadcast from Edinburgh) and Tayside & North East Fife (broadcast from Dundee).
The show originally began broadcasting at a later time of 11 pm, [1] however, along with the stations revamp, was brought forward to 10:30 pm. [2] When the programme first began to air, it was recorded live from STV Edinburgh studios at Fountainbridge Studios.
On STV itself, the Edinburgh-based edition of STV News at Six was axed and replaced with shorter opt-outs within a Central Scotland programme. [10] STV North 's regional news services were not affected, although nine jobs – three journalists and six technical posts – were lost at the company's Aberdeen studios.
