The basin covers an area of 1,120,000 km 2 (430,000 sq mi) [1] [a] traversing four countries: Afghanistan, China, India, and Pakistan, with most of the area lying predominantly in the latter two countries.
The Nimoo Bazgo Power Project is a run-of-the-river power project on the Indus River situated at Alchi village, 75 kilometres (47 mi) from Leh in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh. Chang Chenmo River or Changchenmo River is a tributary of the Shyok River, part of the Indus River system. [4] It is at the southern edge of the disputed Aksai Chin region and north of the Pangong Lake basin.
