The Hoosier National Forest is a property managed by the United States Forest Service in the hills of southern Indiana. Composed of four separate sections, it has a total area of 204,303 acres (827 km 2; 319 sq mi). [1] Hoosier National Forest's headquarters are located in Bedford, with a regional office in Tell City.
The Potts Creek Rock Shelter Archeological Site, within Hoosier National Forest in Crawford County, Indiana, was a camp for Archaic, Woodland, and Paleo-Indian Indians. It is currently unoccupied by habitation. [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. [1]

Browning Hill, known locally as Browning Mountain, [1] is, at 928 feet (283 m) tall, [1] the 53rd highest peak in Indiana. [citation needed] Located in Brown County, near the town of Story, the hill is partly in Hoosier National Forest, and is designated a special management area by the United States Forest Service due to the "relatively undisturbed" old-growth forest that covers it.
It is part of the Hoosier National Forest and is maintained by the USDA Forest Service. The trail begins on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River. From there a steep trail ascends through a hardwood forest to a rocky stream that runs into the river with waterfalls and large sandstone outcrops. The trail is approximately 0.8 miles (1.3 km) long.
