Lloyd is ambushed in the Ninjago City Museum by Morro, a ghost who escaped the Cursed Realm, and ends up getting possessed. Morro steals the Allied Armor, that lets him summon other ghosts from the Cursed Realm, and goes to Sensei Wu's tea shop to get the staff that was given to him by the First Spinjitzu Master.
Unagami breaks into the real world and terrorizes Ninjago City along with his army. Jay releases Zane from the gate. Zane, P.I.X.A.L., and Master Wu fight off Unagami's forces while Jay chases Unagami himself. Jay leads Unagami to the top of Borg Tower, where he is met by the others along with Milton Dyer himself.
Cyrus Borg rebuilds Ninjago City as a futuristic metropolis, following the events of the Overlord's defeat. The ninja, Sensei Wu, Nya and Dareth are teachers at Darkley's (now Sensei Wu's Academy) and Lloyd travels around Ninjago. The Overlord however reemerges, having survived in the Digiverse and takes over all technology.
Lord/Sensei Garmadon (voiced by Mark Oliver, Kai Emmett as a child in season 9, Dean Petriw as a child in season 11) is Lloyd's father, Wu's older brother, Misako's husband, and older son of the First Spinjitzu Master. Garmadon is the main antagonist for the pilot episodes, and a secondary antagonist for the first two seasons.
Firstbourne encases Iron Baron inside molten rock, allowing Wu to take the armour. With the help of Firstbourne, the Ninja and Wu are able to return to Ninjago on the dragons. [N 8] Lloyd and the ninja are reunited in Ninjago City and plan a final battle with Garmadon. Wu and Lloyd fly to Borg Tower on Firstbourne to confront Garmadon.
