The Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec ("Our Lady of Quebec City"), located at 16, rue de Buade, Quebec City, Quebec, is the primatial church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Quebec. [1] It is the oldest church in Canada and was the first church in Canada to be elevated to the rank of minor basilica, by Pope Pius IX in 1874.
On the same triangular site with the church are the Kirk Hall, first erected in 1829 as a Protestant School which continued as a flourishing scholastic institution for many years; and the magnificent Manse erected in 1837, which was the residence of the ministers until 2017. William Reed was notably the church's organist from 1900-1913.

The Archdiocese of Québec (Latin: Archidiœcesis Quebecensis; French: Archidiocèse de Québec) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction or archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Quebec, Canada. It is the oldest episcopal see in the New World north of Mexico and the primatial see of Canada.
As of 2018, five congregations remain, in Montréal, Repentigny, Quebec City, Levis and St-Georges de Beauce, with a total membership of about 350. [4] The denomination seeks to be a continuation of the French Huguenot tradition. Member church are a part of the NAPARC and the World Reformed Fellowship. [5]
