Cities is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal.It was founded in 1983 at Butterworths Scientific and is currently published by Elsevier.It focuses on analysis and assessment of current and historical urban development and management resulting from urban planning policies, while researching solutions in the form of more effective urban policy implementations.
The journal was established in 1974 by Elsevier as Landscape Planning under founding editor-in-chief Arnold E. Weddle. In 1986, the journal was renamed and merged with the journal Urban Ecology. In 1988, the journal also incorporated Reclamation and Revegetation Research.
The journals are also of interest to the scholars of economics, sociology, political science, urban planning, architecture, ecology and cultural studies. The five journals are: Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space: The original Environment and Planning journal, launched in 1969. It focuses on urban and regional issues. [1]

Built Environment is a peer-reviewed academic journal focused on urban planning and related fields. It began in 1956 as Official Architecture and Planning and was renamed Built Environment in 1972. Between 1975 and 1978 it was known as Built Environment Quarterly. [1]
