The Pocatalico River is a tributary of the Kanawha River, approximately 75 miles (121 km) long, [1] in west-central West Virginia in the United States. Via the Kanawha and Ohio rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River .

Poca High School first opened its doors in September 1922 [3] using a small white schoolhouse located on a hillside between Bancroft and Black Betsy, West Virginia. The school then moved to a much larger building overlooking Poca's Main Street in 1926. In 1970, the school relocated to its current building on the outskirts of town.
Access is from West Virginia Route 62 between Bancroft and Hometown and from Manilla Creek Road and Heizer Creek Road off WV 62 north of Poca, West Virginia. Manilla Creek Road cuts across the north side of the Amherst-Plymouth WMA, and WV 62 follows the southern edge of the area alongside the Kanawha River.

West Virginia Route 25 is an east–west state highway located within the counties of Kanawha and Putnam in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The western terminus of the route is at West Virginia Route 62 in Rock Branch (unincorporated) between the towns of Nitro and Poca. The eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 60 in Charleston.
