IEEE Student Branch College of Engineering Karunagappally (STB 03951) is one of the oldest IEEE student branches in Kerala section, 4th branch in Travancore hub after CET TKMCE & CE Adoor. And It is the second IEEE Student Branch in Kollam (Quilon) district. The group came into function on 11 September 2000, in the early history of the institution.
IEEE activities in CET were initiated on 15 June 1983 as student branch under the Kerala section. In 2000, it hosted the Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC 2000) in Technopark with many notable speakers from the Information Technology domain. It was revived in the year 2008.
All admissions are based exclusively on merit and arranged through the Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) of the government of Kerala. All the students need to pay the fees only at the Government rate. Top rank holders of the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by government of Kerala opt for this college.
Students are admitted to the various programs from the rank lists published by the state/central Government (KEAM, DTE, GATE). The college conducts a techfest called 'Takshak' and an arts and culture fest called 'Sanskriti'. The students of MACE are generally referred as MACEians.
