Quest 3 is very much an iterative upgrade to the Quest 2, and Meta will be focused on maintaining market dominance as competitors start pumping out their newer models this year. I’d expect an announcement on Quest 4 (likely not to retain the Quest # naming format) sometime early 2025 with a new headset released by the end of that year.
I got the quest 3 about a month ago and played many games on it including PCVR titles as well as Quest exclusives like AC Nexus and Asgards Wrath 2. But i wanted to try playing FO4 in VR and hence installed the game yesterday. With VD @ godlike 120 hz, the game looked excellent and also played quite well.

The Quest 2 was like the "mid-gen refresh" version of Quest 1 and it was cheaper. So I expect Quest 4 will be the "mid-gen refresh" version of the Quest 3, likely it will include eye-tracked foveated rendering and launch at a lower price than the Quest 3.
r/Quest4: The Meta Quest 4 is a standalone Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality device used for gaming, social interaction and working from Facebook.
The Pico 4 is better value imo The Quest 3 supports AV1 (nice if you have a RDNA3/Ada graphics card and can't do 400Mbps H264) They both use pancake lenses, but the ones in the Quest 3 are better Pico 4 has a higher binocular overlap (good thing), but I don't think that it'd bother most people.
Meta only put a basic strap on both the Quest 2 and Quest 3 to keep the cost down. There is an argument to be made that Quest 3 should have included an Elite strap as standard considering how expensive it is, but the high price is more down to the cost of the lenses and the new cutting edge processor inside the Quest 3.
You can expect a new Quest Pro next year to compete against the AVP and the Samsung Headset. A Quest 4 won't drop until 2026. I'm personally way more excited for the next Meta Ray Ban Glasses that will have a hud in 2025. Finally Glasses with a display.
