The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Chinese: 圣母圣诞堂) is a Roman Catholic church in Singapore. It is located in Hougang, the North-East Region of Singapore, and is within the Serangoon District. [1] It is well known as the oldest Catholic church for the Teochew community in Serangoon.
The officially sanctioned Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, also known as the Tridentine Mass or Traditional Latin Mass, was celebrated every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul within the Archdiocese of Singapore.
The parish saw the need to add in a new Mass timing to cater to the crowd. With that, the Sunday 7.15pm Mass started, with the initial aim to cater to the crowd. It now caters to many parishioners, as well as people who are on shift work and are unable to attend Mass at any other timing on Sundays. The mass timing has since changed to 7.00pm.
With a growing Catholic community in the parish, a Parish Social Centre was built in 1977 to be a place where the youth of the parish could receive religious education, and adults could use to meet, bond and help each other. A Play School was added on within the Parish Social Centre and kindergarten classes began to run in 1978.

As the growing Catholic community had outgrown the small chapel, the chapel building was demolished in 1931, and while waiting for a new church building to be built, the community conducted their Sunday Mass in Arcadia Cinema. [3] The full-sized Church of the Holy Family was eventually completed on 19 June 1932.
