Beekman is located in the southeastern part of Dutchess County, about 70 miles (110 km) north of New York City. According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 30.3 square miles (78.6 km 2 ), of which 29.8 square miles (77.3 km 2 ) is land and 0.50 square miles (1.3 km 2 ), or 1.45%, is water.
