An eagle has no attributes of a ravenclaw. An actual raven is one of the smartest animals and would fit knowledge and intelligence better. An owl could represent wisdom and knowledge too. But an eagle as an animal does not represent Rabenclaw attributes quite good IMO.
The Eagle is very symbolic for the region in which the Ravenclaw family and their nobility came from. Turning the symbol into a raven is a little silly even though we know that ravens are very logical birds.

It has always irked me that a house called RAVENclaw has an EAGLE for mascot. Yes, relative animal intelligence is a thing, ravens are very smart (for a bird) but my main point is: The House is named after its founder, Rowena RAVENclaw, not "eagleclaw" why would an eagle be the mascot? it has RAVEN on its name for crying out loud!
