Location. Main trading & ceremonial center of 3,000 yr-old prehistoric Indian culture. Video, museum, earthworks, guided tours in season, hiking, picnicking. Tram tours are given Wednesdays – Sundays at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., March through October, weather permitting.
Poverty Point Reservoir State Park offers year round fishing for largemouth bass, black crappie, blue gill and channel catfish. Two boat launches, a 48-boat slip marina, fishing pier and fish cleaning station provide a great place to enjoy recreational and sport fishing.
