I keep getting a check engine light code for P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) on a 2016 Chevy Trax. I change both O2 sensors out and even the Catalytic convert. I went with Certified GM parts to replace the bad parts with. I can reset the code but it comes back with in a day or so.

The Encore GX hitch is the same part number, 60003508, for the 2022 and the 2024. The 2022 Trax hitch, 42648009 , is a completely different animal from the 2022 Encore GX.

J. JohnG. 1 post · Joined 2024. #27 · Feb 16, 2024. 2017 Trax fan motor was running after turning car off. Threw code P111E. Changed coolant temperature sensor to clear code. Didn't clear code or stop the fan from running so I changed the relay in the fuse box. Fixed fan but still have code.

Something is not right and if it is under warranty they should fix it. If the dealer says that a 3,000 RPM limit is normal, then you really need to go to a different dealer. Jeff.

The manual says that in the early miles, the transmission "learns" about the way the driver drives and then uses that memory for up and downshifting, at least from my understanding. That is what I found to be true as well.
