Northamptonshire (/ n ɔːr ˈ θ æ m p t ə n ʃ ər,-ʃ ɪər / nor-THAMP-tən-shər, -sheer; [4] [5] abbreviated Northants.) is a ceremonial county in the East Midlands of England.
