Saint Mary's College is a high school located in Above Rocks in Saint Catherine, Jamaica. [1] It was founded in 1955 by its first principal, Father Edmund Cheney S.J. of St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church. Currently, about 1000 students are enrolled.

The school formerly operated as Saint Mary's College and for many decades educated young women in grades 11–12 and their freshman and sophomore years in college. The school changed to a four year high school in 1998, [ 2 ] at which point the name reverted to Saint Mary's School, the original name of the institution when it was founded in 1842.
The Saint Mary's College athletic mascots are the Belles. In 1975, Saint Mary's began to form intercollegiate varsity sports. They did not, however, begin 'playing' until 1977 when the tennis team played to an 8-1 NAIA match victory. It was there that the college competitors unveiled new team T-shirts with "Belles" emblazoned across the front.
The University of Saint Mary (USM) is a private Catholic university in Leavenworth, Kansas, United States. It is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, who established it in 1923 as Saint Mary College. Though it was originally a school for women, the school is now coeducational. The mother house of the order is also on the premises.
