Seward Park is a public park and playground in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Located north of East Broadway and east of Essex Street , it is 3.046 acres (12,330 m 2 ) in size and is the first municipally built playground in the United States.
Essex Crossing is an under-construction mixed-use development in New York City's Lower East Side, at the intersection of Delancey Street and Essex Street just north of Seward Park. Essex Crossing will comprise nearly 2,000,000 sq ft (200,000 m 2 ) of space on 6 acres ( 2 + 1 ⁄ 2 ha) and will cost an estimated US$1.1 billion .
Seward Park Housing Corporation is located in the triangle between Grand Street and East Broadway, and abuts the New York City public park that shares its name. The buildings, designed by Herman Jessor , [ 6 ] share the general design of the East River Houses, with four towers facing the Lower East Side.
