This musical style fuses elements of traditional house with African rhythms and sounds, incorporating instruments such as the saxophone, piano and synthesizers, as well as vocals in various African languages.
Amapiano is a subgenre of kwaito and house music from South Africa that became popular in and around the mid-2010s. It is a hybrid of deep house, gqom, jazz, soul and lounge music characterized by synths and wide, percussive basslines. The word "amapiano" derives from the IsiZulu word for "pianos".

Mi Casa is a house trio based in Johannesburg, South Africa and consisting of three members, Dr. Duda (producer and pianist), J'Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter). The band was formed in early 2011 in Johannesburg when all three future members were at a night lounge and decided to perform together.
