HaKfar HaYarok - Levi Eshkol Green Village (Hebrew: הכפר הירוק) is a youth village in Israel, located in southern Ramat HaSharon, along the northern border of Tel Aviv. It is also the main competitor of the blue village .
In 1990, the modern community settlement of Nitzan was established on the site of the youth village. By 1995 it had a population of 105. It experienced rapid expansion in the mid-2000s after being selected to temporarily house a large group of families evacuated from Gush Katif as part of the disengagement plan .
Yeruham is the site of Tel Rahma, dating back to the 10th century BCE. On the outskirts of Yeruham is an ancient well, Be'er Rahma. [citation needed]During the Nabatean, Roman and Byzantine periods there was a village in the western outskirts of the town and its ruins can be seen today. [4]
The Village is modeled after the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, founded in 1988 in Connecticut by Paul Newman. Newman played Ari Ben Canaan in the 1960 film Exodus, filmed in the same region of Israel as the camp is located. The Israeli government contributed 20% of its budget.
