Brodhead is a city in Green and Rock counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,274 at the 2020 census . In February 2000, the city annexed a portion of land from the Town of Spring Valley in Rock County .
The original railroad depot burned down, but its 1885 replacement still stands and is included in the district. Both Brodhead and its commercial district grew steadily through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; every contributing building was completed by 1930.

Lamboley block at 28-34 Brodhead Street (at left in above photo) is a 2-story brick block begun in 1891 by Lamboley on the site of the Carlisle House Hotel, which had burned the year before.
