Alamance County (/ ˈ æ l ə m æ n s / ⓘ) [1] is a county in North Carolina.As of the 2020 census, the population was 171,415. [2] Its county seat is Graham. [3] Formed in 1849 from Orange County to the east, Alamance County has been the site of significant historical events, textile manufacturing, and agriculture.
It was previously known as The Alamance-Orange Enterprise until February 13, 1991. The Enterprise was a weekly community newspaper that focuses on local government in Mebane and Alamance County, as well as local business and school news. [1] In 2018, the paid circulation was 3,100, and the free circulation was 81. [2]

One of the only remaining pieces of the old courthouse is the 400 lb (180 kg) bell from the cupola, which currently resides at Sesquicentennial Park in Graham.The park was established in 1994 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Alamance County and resides in the northwest corner of the city's Courthouse Square.
