367943 Duende (provisional designation 2012 DA 14) is a micro-asteroid and a near-Earth object of the Aten and Atira group, approximately 30 meters (98 ft) in diameter. It was discovered by astronomers of the Astronomical Observatory of Mallorca at its robotic La Sagra Observatory in 2012, and named for the duende, a goblin-like creature from Iberian and Filipino mythology and folklore. Among the asteroids discovered and tracked by Observatorio Astronómico de Mallorca thanks to its four remotely operated telescopes [1] [4] and to the clear skies of Sierra de la Sagra, on 15 February 2012, a team coordinated by Jaume Nomen, astronomer at OAM located the asteroid Duende, [1] and calculated that the following year, more specifically on 15 February 2013, it would pass 27,700 km ...

On February 15, 2013, the 30 m (98 ft) asteroid 367943 Duende (2012 DA 14) passed approximately 27,700 km (17,200 mi) above the surface of Earth, closer than satellites in geosynchronous orbit. [50] The asteroid was not visible to the unaided eye.
2013 Feb 16 to 20 - Goldstone Observatory observed Duende with radar. It is an elongated asteroid with dimensions of 20 by 40 meters, geometric mean 28 meters. 2046 Feb 15 - Duende will pass about 2.2M km from the earth. 2123 Feb 16 - Duende will pass a minimum of 23K km, 750K km nominal, above the earth's surface.
2014 RC is a sub-kilometer near-Earth object and Apollo asteroid. The exceptionally fast rotator passed within 0.000267 AU (39,900 km; 24,800 mi) (0.1 lunar distances) of Earth on 7 September 2014. The asteroid is approximately the diameter of the Chelyabinsk meteor, [5] and passed almost as close to Earth as 367943 Duende (2012 DA 14) did in 2013.
Trajectory of 2004 FH in the Earth–Moon system Goldstone radar images of asteroid 2007 PA 8 's Earth flyby in 2012. This is a list of examples where an asteroid or meteoroid travels close to the Earth. Some are regarded as potentially hazardous objects if they are estimated to be large enough to cause regional devastation.
