The post-war period was a time of rapid change and development. Gumley House became a grammar school in 1959 and then solely a secondary school when its primary section moved out in the late sixties. The primary school became part of the current St Mary's Catholic Primary School. From 1968 boarders were no longer accepted.

Isleworth Town Primary School, founded in 1910, [1] is a mixed community primary school located in Isleworth, London. In a 2023 Ofsted inspection, the school received a good mark, which it has retained since 2012.
As it was a fee-paying school, a free smaller school was set up in what is now St Mary's music block. The school, St Joseph's Primary School, grew until, in 1914, it was teaching 57 pupils with only 3 teachers. As St Mary's accumulated more pupils it bought surrounding buildings and land until it had enough classrooms to teach all of their pupils.
Isleworth & Syon School can trace its history to the establishment of a charity school in 1630, making it one of the oldest schools in the area. [1] During the 18th century it became known as The Blue School. Due to expansion it became a boys' school and the girls were moved out to a separate building in North Street in 1870.

The Green School for Girls was originally a Sunday school for girls founded in 1796. It educated girls rejected from the heavily oversubscribed Blue School (now Isleworth and Syon School). The name supposedly originates from the fact that the school away gave free green clothes for the girls to wear as a uniform. [2]
