The Alfa Romeo 75 (Type 161, 162B), sold in North America as the Milano, is a compact executive car produced by the Italian automaker Alfa Romeo between 1985 and 1992. The 75 was commercially quite successful: in only three years, 236,907 cars were produced, [ 3 ] and by the end of production in 1992, around 386,767 had been built.
The Alfa Romeo Modular Inlet Manifold is a variable intake system fitted to the later CF2 1.8 and 2.0 litre Twin Spark engines. [citation needed] It operates by switching between two separate air intake runners of different lengths (one pair for each cylinder) to either shorten or lengthen the path from the end of the intake runner (within the plenum) to the inlet valves.
The Twin Spark engine in the 75 also employed Alfa's variatore di fase VVT system which, when combined with electronic fuel injection, gave a power output of 148 PS (109 kW; 146 bhp). The last examples of the Alfa Twin Cam were the 1,749 cc (1.7 L), 1,773 cc (1.8 L) and 1,995 cc (2.0 L) 8V Twin Spark engines featured in the 155 and 164.

The 75, which replaced the Giulietta in 1985, was named after the founding anniversary of Alfa Romeo, which was 75 years old that very year, and was yet another result of the strategy of deriving new models from earlier cars. [184] The 75 was successful in the markets and was the first Alfa Romeo to be fitted with the new Twin Spark engine.
