That whole scene is a mess. If the writers are going to claim the truck came out of no where, don't film on a straight road. My car (2009) doesn't stop beeping until the driver and front passenger have their seatbelts on. I do find it weird that school buses don't have seatbelts.
The only way it would make a difference would be if the trigger was able to move in the car during the lap which it obviously can't. If it was on he nose, then it starts the lap when the nose reaches the trigger point, and then stops when the nose triggers it again. The only car crash victim I could remember that she’s worked on is the patient that she brought in on a truck at the end of s11, before she went off to Jordan again and I’m pretty sure that the guy survived because of her actions.
