Crystal Quagmire (voiced by Alex Borstein in "Fore, Father" and Allison Janney in "Quagmire's Mom") is the mother of Glenn, Gary and Brenda Quagmire, the grandmother of Anna Lee and Courtney, and the wife of Dan. Her first appearance was in "Fore Father" where she is seen in a flashback breastfeeding Glenn.
The voice for Glenn Quagmire is based on 1940s and 1950s radio commercials. [6] MacFarlane uses his own voice while portraying Brian. [2] MacFarlane also provides the voices for various other recurring and one-time only characters, including news anchor Tom Tucker, Lois' father Carter Pewterschmidt and Dr. Hartman. [7]
The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter and Lois; their children Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog Brian. The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often lampoon American culture.
