The Marcus Band provides students a place to belong and experience like no other here at Marcus High School. Our students work as a member of the ensemble to create musical and visual performances that entertain audiences far and wide.
Cole Ousley joined the Marcus High School Band staff in the summer of 2022. Prior to his appointment at Marcus, Mr. Ousley served as the Associate Director of Bands at Renner Middle School in Plano, Texas.
During the fall, students participate in the 230-member Marcus Marching Band. The marching band provides entertainment at varsity football games and prepares a field production for marching contests, including local, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and Bands of America (BOA) events.
At the high school level, all students participate in the Marcus Marching Band during the majority of the fall semester. The Marching Band includes approximately 220 wind players, 30 percussionists, and 30 color guard members.
Marcus Band Booster Organization is organized exclusively to enhance and supplement musical educational opportunities for Marcus High School Cluster students.

During the spring semester, students are assigned to one of four concert ensembles based on ability level: The Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and the Varsity Band meet daily for ninety minutes, and all bands prepare several concerts throughout the concert season.
The state contest, which was held Nov. 8-10 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, featured 38 qualifying Class 6A band programs from across the state. The Hebron, Marcus and Flower Mound high school bands earned first, third and fourth place, respectively.
