The State Correctional Institution – Pine Grove is a Pennsylvania state prison located in White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. The prison contains 19 buildings including 8 housing units. Ground breaking for SCI Pine Grove occurred on May 11, 1998. The first inmates arrived on January 9, 2001.
White Township, named for Judge Thomas White, was officially formed as a municipality in 1843, from portions of Center, Washington, Green, and Armstrong Townships. [4] On March 15, 1844, the first White Township municipal election was held, in which James Hood and William Ewing were elected supervisors, in addition to other township offices.
Indiana County was an active hub of the Underground Railroad. [7] At least 90 county residents are known to have been conductors or agents, guiding fugitive slaves between hiding places on their way to freedom in Canada. [10] In the 21st century, Indiana County comprises the Indiana, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The racial makeup of the township was 99.37% White, 0.08% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.08% from other races, and 0.21% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.42% of the population.

Robinson is a census-designated place [3] located in West Wheatfield Township, Indiana County in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. The community is located near the Westmoreland County line and the borough of Bolivar, along Pennsylvania Route 259. As of the 2010 census, the population was 614 residents. [4]
