The 109–year-old series between the New Mexico State Aggies and the UTEP Miners has had many exciting finishes in its storied history. Although UTEP holds the series lead at 59–38–2, largely due to dominance in the series from the 1920s to the 1960s, UTEP's advantage is 14–5 since 2004 and the Miners won eight straight games between 2009 and 2016 and the last three games as of 2024.
