The Ford Super High Output (SHO) V8 engine was designed and built by Ford Motor Company in conjunction with Yamaha Motor Corporation for use in the 1996 Ford Taurus SHO. It was based on the successful Ford Duratec engine rather than its predecessor, the compact Ford SHO V6 engine developed by Yamaha for the 1989 Taurus SHO. The engine was ...
The engine has a bore and stroke of 84 mm × 90 mm (3.31 in × 3.54 in) with a compression ratio of 16.0:1, and generates 250 hp (186 kW) at 3,250 rpm and 440 lb⋅ft (597 N⋅m) of torque at 1,750 rpm, paired with a Ford–GM 10-speed automatic transmission. It provided a towing capacity of up to 11,440 lb (5,189 kg) when properly equipped.
The 250 was a stroked 200, made by increasing the stroke from 3.126 to 3.91 in (79.4 to 99.3 mm). Output was 155 hp (116 kW) in the Mustang, and the 250 became the base engine in 1971. The Ford Granada and Mercury Monarch offered the 250 inline-six for the 1975–1980 model years, when it was replaced by the 200 inline-six.
The oil is dyed blue to make it easier to recognize in the gasoline. It appears black in this bottle because it is not diluted. Two-stroke oil (also referred to as two-cycle oil, 2-cycle oil, 2T oil, or 2-stroke oil) is a type of motor oil intended for use in crankcase compression two-stroke engines, typical of small gasoline-powered engines.
While the P-10C has a 4.02 in (102 mm) barrel, the full size model has a 4.5 in (110 mm) barrel and the subcompact has a 3.5 in (89 mm) barrel. The full size model holds 19+1 cartridges and the subcompact holds 12+1 cartridges. [14] Like the new P-10 C model introduced in September, they both are optics ready. [15]

The largest displacement version (at 337 cu in [5.5 L]) of the production Ford flathead V8 engine was designed for large truck service. When Lincoln could not produce the V12 engine it wanted for the 1949 model year, the 337 engine was adapted for passenger car use. The 337 features a 3.5 in (89 mm) bore and a 4.375 in (111.1 mm) stroke.
