The storyline of Chaotic: Now or Never! involved six tribes of Perim, although only five were ever mentioned. The first tribe was the Mipedians, which consisted of lizard-like creatures that lived in the Overworld deserts. The second was the Danians, which included ant-like creatures that lived in the Underworld's Mount Pillar location.
The Chaotic Trading Card Game is based on an earlier game called Chaotic: Now or Never! which in turn is based on another game called Grolls & Gorks. Each of these have characters from Dracco Heads, an earlier collectible product. Chaotic USA worked with Martin Rauff and Dracco to create a completely new version, of the earlier trading card game.
Players in Chaotic go to Perim, scan new creatures and use them to battle. In Perim, Tom also got to meet many creatures, including his favorite, Maxxor. The battles between players take place in dromes, which are virtual battles where players become the creatures they choose and fight for the right to battle against the drome master (code master).
When Tom receives a password from his Chaotic Code Scanner, he is transported to the world of Chaotic. He fights in his first Chaotic match against Sam Murakami. After a shaky first battle in the Chaotic BattleDromes, Tom gets tricked by Klay to teleport to Perim. Back on Earth, Kaz tries to help him recover his lost Scanner in the junkyard.
Cerberus – multi-headed dog, guards the gates of the Underworld, son/brother of Orthrus (Greek, Roman) Chupacabra (Latin American) – Alleged creature reputed to attack and drink the blood of livestock, occasionally described with bat-like features. Sometimes thought to resemble, or mistaken for a hairless coyote.
The underworld is divided into twelve hours of the night, each representing different allies and enemies for the Pharaoh/sun god to encounter. The Amduat names all of these gods and monsters, such as the serpent of Mehen or the 'World Encircler' which play a variety of roles to either help or harm Ra and the deceased soul.

Both Chaotic and Perim are made up of a mysterious code called the "Chaotic Code". The code is noted for constantly changing in random ways. Thus, it is considered "chaotic." In Perim, the Chaotic Code describes everything. It contains the information for all the creatures, BattleGear, attacks, Mugic, and locations.
