Perryville was established by Perry Carmean (1877–1980), [1] an emigrant from Van Wert, Ohio, who moved to Phoenix in 1922, renting a property at 809 West Jefferson according to voter registration records and working as a laborer according to the 1925 City Directory.

The Phoenix–Mesa combined statistical area (CSA) was designated in September 2018 by U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and by the Census Bureau which consists of the entirety of the counties of Maricopa, Pinal, and Gila. Phoenix is the capital and largest city by population in Arizona with 1,608,139 residents, [4] is ranked as the fifth most populous city in the United States, and land area spanning 517.5 sq mi (1,340 km 2) as of the 2020 census. The smallest municipality by population and land area is Winkelman with 296 residents in 0.75 sq mi (1.9 km 2). [5]
Along the Arizona Canal in Phoenix, a 750-kilowatt restored hydroelectric plant and art display opened in June 2003 in Arcadia at a natural 20-foot drop called Arizona Falls. Arcadia is a neighborhood in the areas of Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona. It is bounded 44th Street to 68th Street and Camelback Road to the canal.
It was listed in the Phoenix Historic Property Register in May 1990 and in the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1986, reference #85001475. Boundary adjustments were made in June 2006. It was relisted in the Phoenix Historic Property Register in October 2010.
Phoenix annexed the area in stages from 1980 to 1987. [11] It has been suggested that Phoenix's annexation of Ahwatukee to a degree affected Tempe's future development. [15] Plans for Ahwatukee were approved by Maricopa County in November 1971, and 17 model homes were opened in an area near 50th Street and Elliot Road in 1973.
The former 480 area includes the East Valley, including Ahwatukee in the city of Phoenix and some communities in Pinal County such as San Tan Valley. Major cities include Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Tempe. The former 623 area includes the West Valley. Major cities include Glendale, Surprise, Buckeye, and Avondale.
