Pokémon The Park 2005 or PokéPark (ポケパーク, PokePāku) was a traveling Japanese theme park based on the Pokémon franchise. It previously existed in two locations, both currently closed. The theme parks featured many Pokémon-themed attractions, and were open between March 18, 2005, and September 25, 2005, in Japan.
The pair are respectively based on the male and female player characters of Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Jimmy aims to become a Pokémon Champion, and is often seen with a partner Typhlosion, while Marina is interested in dance routines, later being revealed to have become a Pokémon Coordinator in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl .
One day, while playing with Charmander, Chikorita and Piplup, Pikachu is sent to the PokéPark, where the Mythical Pokémon Mew tells him that the 14 pieces of the Sky Prism that protects the park, which has shattered, have gone missing. With his friends, Pikachu sets out on an adventure to find them in the PokéPark.
PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond is primarily singleplayer, with the exception of the attraction minigames which feature multiplayer capabilities for up to four people. The player uses one of four Pokémon available, Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy, and Tepig, and can switch them out at will; each Pokémon has their own special abilities.
