Terlingua Common School District (TCSD) is a public school district based in unincorporated Brewster County, in the U.S. state of Texas. Its only school, Big Bend High School , is located adjacent to the Study Butte census-designated place , and with a Terlingua postal address.

[4] Originally a high school, it now serves as the only school in the Terlingua Common School District and is classified as a 1A school by the UIL .
Terlingua is now served by the Terlingua Common School District. Big Bend High School is the local school. Prior to fall 1996 students at the high school level attended Alpine High School in the Alpine Independent School District. [32] Previously the Terlingua CSD had Big Bend High and Terlingua Elementary as separate schools. [33]
Prior to 1996 Alpine High School served as the high school for students from Terlingua Common School District. [6] Beginning in the 1960s, students were bussed to Alpine, [7] with the bus ride being the longest in the United States. [6] San Vicente Independent School District also sent its high school students to Alpine High. [8]
The district has one school – San Vicente Elementary – located on the grounds of Big Bend National Park. [1] It serves students in grades kindergarten through eight who are dependents of people who work at the park. High schoolers zoned to San Vicente ISD attend school in Terlingua Common School District's Big Bend High School. [2]
As of 2019 the Presidio High School rocketry club consistently won competitions against schools from wealthier, urban communities. A Texas Monthly article in 2019 covered the club. A Filipina teacher named Shella Condino established the club after taking a job at Presidio High in 2006; the club began operations in 2008.
Fall of 2023, the Crane High School's Crane Golden Crane Marching Band received their 41st year of Division Ones at the UIL Region Marching Contest. 2023-2024 marked the 41st year in a row the Crane High School Crane Golden Crane Band has received Sweepstakes for attaining the highest rating (1) in UIL Marching and Concert & Sight-Reading contests.
Terrell County Independent School District is a public school district based in the community of Sanderson, Texas, in the United States. As of 2007, the Texas State Energy Conservation Office awarded the district money due to the colonias served by the district.
