  2. Value of a 1978 Brown Bear Bow by Bear? - GON Forum

    forum.gon.com/threads/value-of-a-1978-brown-bear-bow-by-bear.918276

If you ask $100.00 you will get zero bids. Guy had one listed on Archey talk for $225, then $150, then $100. No takers. Sorry. Guns hold their value pretty well, bows not so much. I have bought a few old bear recurves on eBay, I just don't know that there's a market for old compounds. Last edited: Apr 25, 2018.

  4. .50 Beowulf- Brown Bear Gun? - GON Forum

    forum.gon.com/threads/50-beowulf-brown-bear-gun.268591

If it were me I would take a .338 or a .375. Maybe even a 416. I would be worried about penetration with the .50 beowulf on a big brown bear. I think it would also limit your range. I killed a 150 lb hog the other day with a .450 bushmaster. It's a powerful round but i wouldn't consider it a dangerous game round. Dec 2, 2008.

I've tried a few chokes with my BPS with lead shot 6's. No results to brag about but all will kill turkey. Star Dot extra full is putting 130 in a 10" circle. Carlson & Indian Creek .665 & Pure Gold .670= 120. The Pure Gold .670 had the most even pattern of any. Can't wait to try the Pure Gold .660 this weekend.

    forum.gon.com/threads/buckshot-for-bear.997819

Senior Member. It’s called BUCKshot, not bearshot. For a reason. so, no. Penetration, more than the dumb luck/golden pellet shot, is not sufficient. now, surely some John wick type will come and say they kilt one with birdshot AND A PENCIL! A DULL PENCIL! But I would use something more beefy.

I have been in touch with the dnr and they are going to tag it tomarrow. I only packed out the hide and some meat, I shot him 3 miles back, but I have carried a 5'.3'' bear out that was a little smaller than mine and it went 184 field dressed so i estimate my bear 250 live weight.
