I've owned a Model 100 Winchester .308 since 1970 and have wanted a large capicity magazine, 10, 20, or even 30 for a long time. I don't need one but I just want one. I've looked pretty hard but haven't found anything. Can't even find a spare 4 shot for it. Has anyone ever heard of, or seen anything for this model.
The Winchester Model 100 is a semi-auto that comes in two versions...a rifle and a carbine; neither of which are slide action nor bolt action. I have never seen a high-cap magazine for the Model 100; nor for it's cousin the Model 88 lever gun...wouldn't work well in an 88 anyway. Your are correct on all counts.
Jay said: Be sure the pin has not been changed to the new style before tearing into the action. The old style pin can be rotated in the bolt while the new style has a milled flat that prevents rotation. The back of the pin can be examined through the magazine well without disassembly. Winchester Model 100 Disassembly - YouTube. Great video.
Set all this aside. Back to the barrelled action. Remove the spring clip from the gas plug sleeve that keeps it attached to the gas block. Unscrew the gas plug which will release the gas cylinder. Slide the assembly back, and remove the gas cylinder to the front. The operating slide assembly and bolt will now remove upward and to the rear.

MODEL 100 problems I currently have a model 100 carbine that I rec`d from my older brother`s family. ( previously owned a 22 inch barrel model 100 in the early 70`s ) There are serious problems associated with both of these rifles. You must repace the firing pin. ( this is under recall warranty.) They have a long history of jammimg .
Winchester Model 100 Hammer Lock. The Winchester Model 100 rifle has a part called a "Hammer Lock" on the parts list. The part has a notch on the front that seems like it would mate with a corresponding notch on the back of the hammer to "lock" the hammer, as the name implies. On my model 100, the hammer lock does not seem to engage the hammer.
So I doubt it's a problem with the stock. One thing I've found is using a good scope helps. Model 100's and 88's are notorious "kickers" relative to their calibers. For instance my .308 88's recoil is MUCH sharper than my Ruger M77 in 7mm Mag. The point being, a cheap NC Star isn't going to handle the recoil.

There's one on Ebay now, might be worth keeping an eye on. Often, if they don't sell, they are re-listed at a lower price.
We have the Winchester 1300. Rotary bolt, aluminum alloy receiver, pump action shotgun. Available in all the expected configurations for hunting, home defense, and police use. Like the Mossberg 500 and unlike the Remington 870, it has multiple magazine tube lengths offered, and different barrels for each length.
