The 2022–23 season is the 144th season in the existence of Doncaster Rovers Football Club and the club's first season back in League Two since the 2016–17 season following their relegation from League One last season.
On 3 May 2014, Doncaster were relegated back to League One after just one season following a 1–0 defeat to Leicester City on the final day of the season.
