Westway is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Paso County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,188 at the 2010 census. [3] It is part of the El Paso Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located east of Interstate 10, approximately 2 miles (3 km) from the New Mexico - Texas state line.
Irving began in 1889 as an area called Gorbit, and in 1894 the name changed to Kit. [13] Irving was incorporated April 14, 1914, with Otis Brown as the first mayor. By the late nineteenth century the Irving area was the site of churches, two cotton gins, a blacksmith shop and a general store.
